Costa Blanca
Alicante
is the capital of the Blanca area
and offers an enormous range of shops and restaurants to
satisfy the most ardent visitor. In addition the main airport for the
Blanca is close to the town. To the north of Alicante you will find
several established holiday resorts and 50 km to the south you will find
the town of Torrevieja and the developing coastal area
of Orihuela Costa . This area is now serviced by a new
motorway (AP 7) which runs from Alicante in the north to Cartagena in
the south. In addition the area is also serviced by the Murcia airport
(San Javier), the main airport for the Calida some 25 km south of
Torrevieja and is increasingly being used by U.K. airlines. The beaches
in the area are outstanding and many have been awarded the treasured
'blue flag' by the E.U. This award recognizes the cleanliness and safety
of beaches in this area. To the north of Torrevieja you will find 17 km
of sandy beaches surrounded by a protected woodland area. In addition
south of Torrevieja you will find numerous coves and beaches.

The
main attraction of the Costa Calida is the Mar Menor, a part of the mediterranean that is
cut off from the open sea by a peaninsula called the La Manga Strip.
This created a shallow lagoon sea that is connected to the open sea and
attracts people addicted to watersports. The lagoon also make mud baths
possible that are famous too. The area arround the Mar Menor was
involved into the national tourism many years ago, now more and more
foreign tourists are seeking this area too. There are several typical
Spanish towns (San Pedro, Santiago de La Ribera, San Javier) close by
for you to visit that offer beautiful architectured and and historical
buildings. Surrounding these towns are original and untouched landscape.
Costa Almeria
One
of the greatest attractions of the Costa Almeria area
is the coastline which snakes along for 14 km of
uninterrupted, breathtaking, serenity. This can be contrasted with other
shore lines in this area that are fragmented and hidden by cliffs and
mountains that reach down to the coastline itself. The main towns are
Vera with Vera Playa, Garrucha, Mojacar Pueblo with Mojacar Playa and
Almeria. The area is served by the Murcia airport and the Almeria
airport. The area is unspoilt and very Spanish.
